Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Simple Robot handles information when you use this website, contact support or use Classroom Course Builder. Simple Robot is operated by Jamie Atkinson in the United Kingdom. Contact: support@simplerobot.co.uk.
Information you provide for support
When you use the support form or email Simple Robot, the information may include your name, reply email, product, issue type, licence reference, message and anything you deliberately attach or include.
This information is used to respond to the request, diagnose problems, maintain a record of the conversation and protect the service from misuse. The usual lawful basis is legitimate interests in providing and improving support; where the request concerns a purchase or licence, processing may also be necessary to perform a contract or take steps at your request before entering one.
Support form submissions are processed by Cloudflare and delivered to a Gmail account operated by Google. Support records are normally kept for up to 12 months after the request is resolved, unless they are needed longer for security, legal, accounting or dispute purposes.
What Classroom Course Builder does
Classroom Course Builder lets a user select an organised Google Drive folder, review a proposed course plan and create or update topics, Materials and Assignments in a Google Classroom chosen by that user.
Google information the app accesses
- Google Drive metadata: file and folder names, identifiers, file types and parent relationships used to display the selected folder hierarchy and identify resources to attach.
- Google Docs content: text from a Google Doc only when the user assigns that file the Description role for a Classroom post.
- Google Classroom: courses the user can teach, plus topics, Materials and Assignments needed to create, inspect, update or reuse the course structure approved by the user.
The app does not request access to student submissions, grades, guardian data or private student profiles.
How Google information is used
Google information is used only to provide the course-building functions shown in the application. Folder metadata is used to build the review plan. Selected document text is used as a post description. Classroom data is used to create, update or recognise the topics and posts that the user has approved.
Classroom Course Builder's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and retention
Document bodies are processed when a build is run and are not stored on a Simple Robot server. The app stores a small amount of technical mapping data in Google Apps Script User Properties, such as Google resource identifiers and related names. These mappings allow repeat runs to reuse or update linked Classroom items instead of creating duplicates.
The mapping data does not contain student submissions, grades or complete document bodies. Contact support to ask about clearing app mapping data.
Sharing and sale of information
Simple Robot does not sell Google user data or personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers. Service providers such as Google and Cloudflare process limited information where needed to operate the site, app and support service. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or with the user's explicit direction.
Human access
Simple Robot does not routinely read users' Drive documents or Classroom content. A human may see information only when a user deliberately supplies it for support, where access is necessary to investigate security or abuse, or where disclosure is legally required.
Website hosting, logs and cookies
The public Simple Robot website is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical request data, such as IP addresses, browser information and security signals, to deliver and protect the site. Simple Robot does not currently use advertising, behavioural tracking or custom analytics. Read the Cookie Notice for more detail.
Security
The app uses Google's authentication and encrypted HTTPS connections. Permissions are limited to those needed for the app's features. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but reasonable steps are taken to minimise access and data retention.
Your choices and rights
You can stop using the app at any time and revoke its access from your Google Account permissions page. Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the use of personal information, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app, website or legal requirements change. The current version and its update date will remain published on this page.
